• This service supplies software that can be used to update the firmware for COOLPIX S7000 cameras to version 1.1. Before proceeding, select Firmware version in the camera Set up menu and check the camera firmware version. You will not need to download or install this update if the firmware listed above is already installed. • Read the information below before proceeding.

Viewing the Camera Firmware Version

1. Turn the camera on.
2. Press the camera MENU button to display the menus.
3. Press the multi selector left to display menu icons, then highlight Set up and press OK.
4. Highlight Firmware version in the Set up menu and press OK to display the camera firmware version.
5. Check the camera firmware version.
6. Turn the camera off.

Updating the Camera Firmware

1. Create a folder on the computer hard disk and name it as desired.
2. Download F-S7000-V11W.exe to the folder created in Step 1.
3. Run F-S7000-V11W.exe to extract the firmware to a sub-folder in the new folder. The resulting file and folder hierarchy is shown below:
   • firmware (the sub-folder containing the firmware)
   • firmware.bin (the camera firmware, located in the “firmware” folder)
4. Using a card slot or card reader, copy the “firmware” folder to a memory card that has been formatted in the camera.
5. Insert the memory card into the camera and turn the camera on.
6. Select Firmware version in the Set up menu and follow the on-screen instructions to complete the firmware update.
7. Once the update is complete, turn the camera off and remove the memory card.
8. Confirm that the firmware has been updated to the new version.

Updating the Camera Firmware

1. Download F-S7000-V11M.dmg.
2. Double-click the F-S7000-V11M.dmg icon to mount a disk image containing the folder and file below:
   • firmware (the sub-folder containing the firmware)
   • firmware.bin (the camera firmware, located in the “firmware” folder)
3. Using a card slot or card reader, copy the “firmware” folder to a memory card that has been formatted in the camera.

Introduction

The Nikon Coolpix P7000 is a the new flagship model in Nikon’s extensive range of Coolpix compact digital cameras. The Coolpix P7000 is the successor to the one-year-old P6000, but it offers a new design and extra features that make it a completely different proposition. The 10 megapixel Nikon P7000 features a mechanically-stabilized 7.1x optical zoom with a focal range of 28-200mm and maximum apertures of f/2.8-5.6, built-in neutral density filter, sensitivity range of ISO 100 to 6400, RAW file support, optical viewfinder, external flash hotshoe, PASM shooting modes, 720p HD video recording with stereo sound and a microphone jack, and a 3-inch, 920,000-dot LCD screen. Designed to appeal to the keen enthusiast photographer, the P7000’s most obvious competitor is the equally new Canon PowerShot G2, with both cameras looking eerily similar at first glance. The Nikon Coolpix P7000 is available in black for £489.99 / €580.00 / $499.95.

Особенности камеры

Одно из главных достоинств камеры среди компактов – это достаточно большой ПЗС-сенсор, размер которого составляет 1/1,7 дюйма, а максимальное разрешение снимка при этом составляет всего 10 Мп. В эпоху выдавливания 14 Мп из матриц размером 1/2,33 дюйма (чем грешит и компания Nikon) это всё же большой шаг навстречу к пользователю, а не маркетинговая уловка. Разумеется, подобный подход существенно влияет на снижение уровня шумов… и тут производитель всё же не удержался – максимальная чувствительность при максимальном размере кадра составляет 6400 единиц в ISO-эквиваленте. Конечно же, при установке столь высокого значения шумы малыми не будут, ведь даже такой сенсор по сравнению с матрицами «зеркалок» всё же мал, но о шумах чуть позже. Также из особенностей стоит отметить функцию «зум-память» (установка до шести значений фокусного расстояния с возможностью быстрого перехода к установленным значения), функцию отображения виртуального горизонта, а также массу ручных настроек и режимов.

Introduction

The Nikon S7000 was introduced at the same time as a range of other new Nikon cameras in early February 2015. It features a back-illuminated 20 million pixel CMOS sensor and a 20x optical zoom which gives you an equivalent angle of view of 25-500mm in 35mm terms. There’s also full HD video recording, as well as inbuilt Wi-Fi and NFC support for connecting the camera to your smartphone or tablet. Other specifications include an EXPEED C2 processor, the ability to create panoramas, a range of scene modes, a three-inch 460k dot screen and the ability to charge the battery via a USB port. The Nikon Coolpix S7000 costs £199.99 / $279.99 and is available in black, white, pink or gold.
